About Låven
Once known as Heggeli-gården, Låven sits on the edge of Alta’s city center where open fields met the shoreline and life followed the rhythm of the seasons. For decades the farm was a working homestead—barn doors wide, hay in the loft, and long summer evenings spent out on the yard.
When the last bales were stacked and the tractors grew quiet, we began a careful transformation. Rather than erase the past, we chose to elevate it. The result is Låven: a contemporary event venue that keeps the soul of the farm alive. We preserved the exterior silhouette and timber cladding, restored details by hand, and brought the warm textures of wood, stone, and iron indoors. Today, the building welcomes weddings, company gatherings, and celebrations of every kind—rooted in history, designed for the present.
From Farm to Gathering Place
We’ve kept the exterior untouched—pitched roofs, weathered boards, and the familiar barn profile—so that Heggeli-gården still greets you from the road. Inside, the spaces are thoughtfully reimagined: rustic beams meet modern lighting, and soft textiles warm the original framework.
Our rooms borrow their names from the farm’s past: The Loft for dinners that stretch into the night, The Stable for intimate ceremonies and talks, The Granary for lively mingling and music. In every corner you’ll find small nods to the heritage—hand-forged hardware, salvaged timber, and stories told in the grain of the wood. Låven is our way of honoring what was here while creating a place for new memories.
